Who we are
We are passionate about family and community.
We are sisters who were raised in Carleton, Michigan and we both made the decision to raise our own families here as well. Our family was one of the first families to plant roots in the small town of Carleton back in 1872 and it’s our goal to keep the history and beauty of Carleton alive by offering products that speak to country living, small town, and our school spirit.
About Kristin & Katie >
About Katie
Katie is the co-founder and co-owner of Village Depot. Katie and her husband Jason are very involved in the community from teaching, coaching, and mentoring students to participating in local events.
Katie is passionate about curating our store to fit the needs of our community and also creating a safe and welcoming space for all to enjoy.
Alongside her passion community nothing inspires Katie more than time spent at home with Jason and their three kids—whether they’re traveling, spending time baking in the kitchen, cheering on their kids at a local sporting event or planting something new in the garden.
About Kristin
Kristin is the co-owner and co-founder of Village Depot. Kristin and her husband are involved in the community and our school district as they volunteer, coach, and work in the community as well.
An entrepreneur by nature, Kristin has started a non-profit organization called Kids Who Care so that her own kids and the middle school students at Airport Schools are able to work together and give back to families in need throughout Monroe, County.
Kristin has always felt at home inside the cozy and thoughtfully curated boutique shops up north which are her inspiration with the creation of our local Village Depot.
But more than any adventure Kristin loves a slow weekend spent with Ron and their three kids, camping, relaxing at the lake, cheering them on at their sporting events, or spending time outside on their farm.
